I am a Japanese face painter who works under the name "Face Painter Mihoo." I hold the distinction of being the only licensed "Heaven Artist" (Tokyo Metropolitan Government certified street performer) specializing in face painting. With a career spanning over two decades since 1996, I am recognized as one of the pioneering and most established face painters in Japan.
My exceptional talent has been internationally recognized, having achieved First Place in the Cheek Art/Body Part category at the prestigious Face and Body Art International Convention in Orlando, Florida for two consecutive years: 2007 and 2008. This remarkable achievement underscores my skill and artistry on a global stage.
I have been a frequent performer at major street performance festivals across Japan, captivating audiences with my vibrant creations. Notable appearances include "Sancha DE Daidogei," "Noge Daidogei," "Koenji Bikkuri Daidogei," and "Osu Machinin Matsuri." Furthermore, I have had the honor of participating in the renowned Shizuoka World Cup Street Performance festival four times.
I specialize in designs deeply rooted in Japanese aesthetics, with a particular focus on the delicate expressions favored by the Japanese. While I am skilled in full face transformations, I am also highly regarded for my elegant one-point designs on arms and charming cheek art, reflecting popular Japanese trends. Additionally, I possess a unique understanding of how to create full face designs that beautifully complement common Japanese hairstyles, such as incorporating designs that work well with girls' bangs.
My design inspiration comes from the anime and manga I enjoyed as a child, primarily from the 1980s and 1990s, such as "Captain Tsubasa" and "Creamy Mami." This influence shapes my distinctive color palette and dynamic expressions. Moreover, I am adept at creating designs that capture the beauty of Japan's four seasons and am also skilled in the art of Kabuki makeup.
