The WBF Photo Awards have always been an important part of the World Bodypainting Festival. Bodypainting is a temporary art—once the colors are on, only a great photo can keep its beauty forever. Without photography, the amazing artwork would disappear, leaving no memory of the creativity and emotions behind it.
The results for the WBF Photo Awards 2024 are readz to write a history! This year, photographers from around the world submitted stunning images in two categories: “Best Bodypainting Image” and “Best Portrait Image.” The magic of bodypainting comes to life through the lens, and these photographers have captured it in the most stunning way!
Category: Best Portrait Image
1st Place: Tobias Spranger (Germany) – "Bronze"
Congratulations to Tobias Spranger for securing the top spot with his mesmerizing portrait. Tobias is no stranger to excellence, frequently placing among the top photographers in this competition. He also secured 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 7th place with his outstanding work.
2nd Place: Walter Schachner (Austria) – "Bloodthirst"
With his intense and powerful image Walter Schachner left a lasting impression on the jury. Another one of his striking works also secured 8th place.
3rd Place: Michael Lessard (Canada) – "Purple"
Year after year, Michael Lessard amazes with his unique artistic vision. His vibrant piece photo capture earned him a well-deserved third place.
Best Bodypainting Image
1st Place: Michael Lessard (Canada)
A big congratulations to Michael Lessard. His breathtaking photo secured the top spot, and his exceptional work also placed 3rd and 14th in the rankings.
2nd Place: Tobias Spranger (Germany)
Adding another accolade to his achievements, Tobias Spranger once again showcased his incredible talent with a remarkable bodypainting image. His talent shone through, with additional placements in 6th, 9th, 11th, and 12th place.
3rd Place: Dmitri Moisseev (Canada)
Rounding out the winners, Dmitri Moisseev impressed the jury with his stunning entry, securing third place showcasing his outstanding ability to bring bodypainting to life through photography!
