Lava & Mar – A Unique Bodypainting Experience
The World Bodypainting Association is excited to announce an inspiring upcoming event hosted by one of our members: Lava & Mar, taking place on the breathtaking island of La Palma on October 3rd and 4th, 2026.
This two-day creative gathering invites artists, models, and photographers from around the world to come together and transform the human body into living works of art. Set against the dramatic and contrasting landscapes of La Palma - where volcanic textures meet the vast Atlantic Ocean- participants will have the opportunity to create truly unforgettable masterpieces.
Two Days of Creativity Without Limits
Over the course of two immersive days, participants will collaborate on artistic make-up and bodypainting projects using both professional and amateur models. Each creation will be carefully documented by a dedicated photography team, ensuring that every piece is preserved and shared beyond the event itself.
Whether you are an experienced artist or just beginning your journey, Lava & Mar offers a welcoming and inspiring environment to experiment, connect, and grow.
An International Creative Gathering
This event is aimed at bodypainters, make-up artists, models, and photographers—both local and international, professionals and amateurs alike. In addition to members of the organizing association, participants will be joined by internationally acclaimed bodypainting artists, as well as international models and photographers, creating a truly global and inspiring atmosphere.
Organized With Passion and Accessibility
As a non-profit initiative, the organizers are committed to making this experience accessible while maintaining high-quality standards. Travel coordination, accommodation support, and necessary permits will be organized to facilitate participation and allow attendees to fully enjoy this unique artistic adventure while discovering the stunning island of La Palma.
Only the actual costs associated with the activity will be charged.

To enhance the overall experience, efforts are being made to arrange accommodation in a single shared location. Accommodation costs will be covered individually by each participant.
About the Project: Lava & Mar
Lava & Mar is part of an ongoing cultural initiative by the ACBMAC – Cultural Association of Bodypainting and Artistic Make-up of the Canary Islands. The association is dedicated to bringing the art of bodypainting and creative make-up closer to communities across the Canary Islands.
The project began in 2023 on Lanzarote and has since traveled to Gran Canaria and Tenerife. With each edition, it continues to grow, connecting creatives and expanding its reach. The vision of ACBMAC is to take this project across all eight Canary Islands, building a vibrant network of artists, models, and photographers along the way.
