Keeping Bodypainting Art Alive – Support Bodypainting Artventures Magazine Issue 8!

Bodypainting is an extraordinary art form, but also a temporary one. The artworks may only exist for a few hours, yet their creativity, beauty and stories deserve to live on. This is exactly what photographer and two-time World Champion Dmitri Moisseev and his team at Art Fashion Studio have been doing for more than 20 years.

Now, they are working on the eighth edition of Bodypainting Artventures Magazine, an annual publication dedicated to celebrating and preserving the incredible world of fine art bodypainting.

A Magazine Celebrating Our Creative Community

Since its first issue, Bodypainting Artventures has taken readers on a colorful journey through international festivals, competitions and individual art projects. With seven successful editions already published, the magazine has become a wonderful collection of artistic achievements, inspiring stories and unforgettable photographs.

The upcoming Issue 8 (2026) is expected to feature more than 200 pages of stunning photography, documenting creative highlights from Hvar (Croatia), Vipiteno/Sterzing (Italy), Épinal (France) and Paris.

Each edition offers a unique opportunity to discover the incredible talent of bodypainting artists, models and photographers from around the world.

Why We at the WBA Love This Project

At the World Bodypainting Association, we truly appreciate projects like Bodypainting Artventures. They do something incredibly valuable for our international community: they give artists, models and photographers visibility, celebrate their creativity and preserve their extraordinary work for future generations.

Bodypainting is an art form that lives in the moment. Countless hours of preparation, imagination and artistic skill go into creating a living masterpiece, often only to disappear at the end of the day. Photography allows these works to live on, reach new audiences and inspire people far beyond the original event.

We are especially proud that many of the outstanding photographs featured in Dmitri's publications were captured at World Bodypainting Festival events and competitions organized or supported by our WBA network.

Many of the talented artists, models and photographers represented in these publications have been part of our international bodypainting family for many years. We have watched their creativity develop, celebrated their achievements and shared countless unforgettable moments together.

Seeing their work beautifully documented and presented to an international audience makes us particularly happy.

Projects like this remind us that our community is about much more than competitions. It is about artistic exchange, friendships, inspiration and keeping this unique art form alive.

Meet Dmitri Moisseev

Based in Ottawa, Canada, Dmitri Moisseev is a professional photographer and founder of Art Fashion Studio. His passion for bodypainting photography has taken him to festivals and creative projects around the world.

He is also a two-time World Champion in Classical Bodypainting Photography at the World Bodypainting Festival, having won the title in 2012 and 2016. His other achievements include third place in 2009 and second place in the Best Fashion/Portrait Photography category in 2018.

In 2017, Dmitri and his team published the book World Bodypainting Festival, featuring hundreds of remarkable photographs from past WBF editions. Together with Art Fashion Studio, he has also been producing annual bodypainting calendars since 2014.

His dedication to documenting this fascinating art form continues through publications, photography and video projects.

Help Bring Issue 8 to Life!

To make the eighth edition possible, Dmitri and his team have launched a Kickstarter campaign with an initial funding goal of CAD $1,000. Supporters pledging CAD $10 or more will receive a digital copy of Bodypainting Artventures Magazine – Issue 8, offered at a special Kickstarter price.

Every contribution helps bring this beautiful collection of living art to a wider audience and gives the artists and photographers behind these creations the recognition they deserve. We at the WBA are delighted to share and support this wonderful initiative and encourage our worldwide community to take a look at the project.
