On March 15, 2026, the Netherlands will mark an exciting milestone as it hosts the very first International Face Painting Contest—an open contest dedicated entirely to the vibrant and ever-growing art of face painting.
For the past two years, the event has taken place on the beautiful island of Hvar, Croatia.
The World Award: Camouflage category is a special part of the World Bodypainting Festival, inspired by the famous technique where artists paint models to blend into the background. Since 2021, this award has celebrated the skill of creating optical illusions that challenge the eye. Many artists have dreamed of competing in this category, so the competition now takes place over two days, giving more participants the chance to show their talent.
